The Supervisory Leaders In Aging / Gerontological Social Work Practice Fellows Program (SLA-GSWPF)
40 MSW social workers participated in the 2015 and 2016 SLA training programs in New York City - co-sponsored with the Helen Rehr Center. They will join a growing national network of supervisors in social services to older adults and their families. For more on the national rollout go to the SLA-GSWPF page.

Colloquium on “Social Work Practice in the Digital Age”.
In the spring of 2013 the Center sponsored the second in a half day colloquium at the Silberman School of Social Work to address the issues faced by the social work profession in the digital age. Both invitational gatherings brought together over 30 leading social work managers, supervisors, educators, and practitioners. They were charged with clarifying the issues faced by the profession and recommending strategies to address these issues. A summary of the proceedings is posted on this website under “publications”.

The Center Board of Directors appointed a Task Force chaired by Maureen Benej to follow up on these recommendations and address other emerging issues. One of its first tasks was to respond to an invitation from Dr. Gary Rosenberg, Editor in Chief of Social Work in Health Care to submit a summary of the colloquium proceedings that would accompany a “Call for Papers” - in anticipation of devoting a full issue to the subject. This special issue has now been published and is described in the Publications section.
