ADVOCACY 101 & BEYOND FOR SOCIAL WORKERS
We were pleased to collaborate with the Social Work Section of the NY Academy of Medicine in this online workshop on advocacy. While advocacy is an essential ingredient in successful social work practice, the important roles played by social workers are not fully realized. This workshop explored these roles and provided examples of their implementation.
Three speakers with extensive experience in advocacy within communities and organizations, Terry Mizrahi, Ph.D., MSW, John N. Migliaccio, PhD, RFG, FGSA & Nicholas Yip LMSW, MPH, shared their perspectives on the effective roles social workers can play.
