A SUCCESSFUL WORKSHOP SERIES!


The online workshop series "Social Workers on the Front Lines of A Pandemic: Looking Back and Moving Forward" - described in an earlier flyer and co-sponsored with the New York Academy of Medicine Social Work Section - was both informative and supportive. Nine social workers shared their experiences during the pandemic and the steps they are taking to manage.

Leading off the panel presentations was Dr. Claire Forde-Green, Executive Director of the NASW New York City Chapter who lauded the critical role played by social workers whom she described as “rock stars“. A central theme running through the workshop was the emotional upheaval experienced by front line workers and their need for selfcare. A brief demonstration of “mindfulness” to address this stress was presented by HRC Board member, Karisma Ajodah.
